Announcing K P Garner Studios, LLC

In the process of figuring out how to share my art with more people, I discovered that I need a business license if I want to actually sell any of it! Well enough said, I can now announce the formation of K P Garner Studios, LLC. It was a learning experience but I’ve dotted all my ‘i’s’ and crossed all my ‘t’s’ and am finally official. I even have a business bank account to make tax time easier (I hope!).

In other news, I posted a new painting today. It’s called Grain Silos. (I know - not very imaginative of me!) I was inspired by the grain siloes in Reardon, WA. I was standing across the street from them at the golden hour when everything is just ‘more’ than it was before. There was this huge flock of pigeons coming in to land on the silos and the sky was the perfect blue. Well if you take a peak you’ll see that I didn’t quite capture that Studio Ghibli perfection. As I worked it became something else for me. Something quite but dirtier and maybe a little still.

I may still go back and make that happier version of these silos but in the meantime I like what I’ve done.

Hope this finds you all happy and well.

Created using textured gesso and pallet knife techniques. This painting featured the grain silos in Readan, WA.

The silos in Reardan have been in service for many years and continue to support the local wheat growers to this day. An iconic representation of silos all over Eastern Washington, the towers show their age and stand as tribute to the agricultural history of the region.
